If you want to try fantastic Sashimi in Tokyo, you must visit ICHIRAKU in Shinbashi.
In my life as a Japanese, I have experienced many many Sashimi around Japan. But I can say Sashimi of this restaurant is the best in Tokyo !
ICHIRAKU is lacated in the small street near JR Shinbashi station.
Outlook is very conpact and cozy.
Inside, there are about 20 - 30 seats including counter and tabless.
Smiles of the chef and staffs are very friendly and welcoming.
The menu is basically chef's selection course from 6,000 to 12,000 yen/pax.
And you need to consider the cost of drinks, maybe plus 4,000 to 5,000 yen/pax.
Off course, it's depending on your volume of the alcohol, but once you drink Sake with fantastic dishes, I believe you cannot stop drinking 😁
Starting from the appetizer with a lot of charming items.
And some Excellent and Nicest Sashimi in the world are following to appetizer. Before cutting fresh fishes, the chef shows up a living and moving fish.
The most fresh Sashimi with the chef's highest knife technic is elastic but soft. Especially I cannot forget the taset of Aji (鯵, horse mackerel) from Hashiri-Mizu (走水), Kanagawa...I alomost shed tears due to deep impression (;_;
The other speciality of this restaurant is "Hamo-Shabu".
Hamo (鱧, common japanese conger) is unique and long fish.
Cut this living Hamo and dip into this vegetable soup, like "Shabu-Shabu".
Then take bit boiled Hamo with some vegetable.
Japanese famous media made a feature on this restaurant and Hamo-Shabu before.
Line-up of the course is depending on the season and market.
The chef everyday selects the best material on that day.
Budget is little bit high, but I guarantee that you can make a priceless memory in Tokyo !!
